We’re seeking a committed and knowledgeable Field Advisor to join us for the 2025 growing season at In Harmony Farm.

This role is centered on being in the field—working directly with our farmers, identifying challenges early, and supporting them with practical, hands-on solutions that strengthen crop performance and soil health.

The Field Advisor will help guide planting decisions, interpret soil tests, and monitor plant health throughout the season. In addition to advising, this role plays an important part in documenting field activity and outcomes—contributing to a growing body of knowledge that helps us track trends, measure impact, and strengthen our long-term program strategy.

Mark Your Calendar:
Lenga Lenga Dinner On the Farm

Mark your calendar and invite your friends to our annual Lenga Lenga fundraising dinner on Sunday, September 28! Enjoy farm tours, cocktail hour, and a gourmet meal prepared by a local chef using produce (including lenga lenga, of course!) grown right here at the farm.

Lenga lenga is a member of the amaranth family that is used similarly to other leafy greens like spinach, chard, and collards. It is commonly grown in Burundi, the homeland of many of the In Harmony Farm growers.

Tickets will be available soon!

Open House Weekends

Come visit us at the farm throughout the season and learn about our mission to serve beginning farmers, provide locally grown food to Iowans, and improve our land through regenerative farming and conservation.

Open House Weekends are on the following dates for 2025 (Fridays 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.):

July 18/19
August 15/16
September 12/13
October 3/4
November 7/8

“You who live in the heartland of America have been entrusted with some of the earth’s best land: the soil so rich in minerals, the climate so favorable for producing bountiful crops, with fresh water and unpolluted air available all around you. You are stewards of some of the most important resources God has given to the world. Therefore, conserve the land well, so that your children’s children and generations after them will inherit an even richer land than was entrusted to you.”

— Excerpts from the homily of Pope John Paul II at Living History Farms in Urbandale, Iowa on October 4th, 1979
