Farm Program Specialist Job Summary

Our Farm Program Specialist will assist the In Harmony Farm Executive Director in obtaining necessary data for federal, corporate and private grants that the nonprofit needs to exist.

This will require interacting with specialty crop farmers and ranchers to get specific data from them, assisting with additional data collection, collating data into a data management system and converting the data into a helpful format for grant reporting. 

This is a part-time position, requiring 25-30 hours weekly.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist farmers with grant related measurement and verification processes.
  • Effectively collect data using software, surveys, and other data collection tools ensuring the quality and accuracy of the data.
  • Process and present data in ways to assist leadership with decision making.
  • Create dashboards and reports.
  • Oversee and monitor electronic database performance.
  • Submit grant reports and supporting documentation as required by funding agreements.
  • Support ongoing monitoring of grant activities.
  • Ensure organizational data is secure.
  • Create and administer databases.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, business management and/or related field desired. 
  • Analytical skills to gather, view and analyze information.
  • Numerical skills to measure and statistically analyze data.
  • Technical skills to organize and present data into non-technical terms.
  • Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to self-manage and execute assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to effectively collect data using software, surveys, and other data collection tools ensuring the quality and accuracy of the data.
  • Ability to process and present data in ways to assist leadership with decision making.

Physical Requirements

  • Routinely walking and working in production fields, timber, pasture, and prairie with varying summer elements
  • Work in outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Drive ATV through grassy uneven terrain
